New York isn’t like Paris where you can enjoy coffee with a friend in a beautiful cafe by the sidewalk with outdoor seatings. New York traffic and crowdedness makes it too loud and busy for anyone to enjoy coffee outdoor. However, you can find cafes with really good coffee and hip vibes.
Cafe Sabarsky
This is one of the places that I wish I could visit more often, but usually it requires some wait before being seated. It’s located inside the Neue Gallerie on Upper East Side. I like the elegant ambience and its classic Viennese interior. Their Viennese pastries and coffee make it a perfect place for a sweet break. They also have savory dishes.
Irving Farm Coffee Roasters
I’ve only been to their Upper East Side location. It’s cozy yet spacious. I don’t drink coffee, but from what I heard from my husband, their black coffee is pretty decent. On weekends, I like to enjoy a cup of hot chocolate by their window seats. Sometimes my husband and I would have breakfast here early in the morning before his work. They have vegan food and beverage options. It’s also a relaxing place to hang out.
Birch Coffee
When I used to drink coffee, Birch Coffee was my favorite! I never would have thought that coffee could taste as smooth and rich as the ones I had at Birch. If you are not a big fan of coffee they also have other beverages and food. I’ve been to two of their many locations in the City. I especially love their rustic cozy interior.
