As we’re on plant-based diet, I’m blessed to have so many vegan options in NYC. Whether you want to have Thai food or burgers, you can literally find whatever you like in plant-based version, and they’re actually tasty! More and more non-vegan restaurants in NYC now offer vegetarian and vegan options, which makes it easier for us when hanging out with non-vegan friends. Here are few of my favorite vegan restaurants in NYC with the exception of Paulie Gee’s, as it offers both vegan and non-vegan food.
Ladybird
This tapas-style contemporary restaurant has recently become one of our favorites in town. This lovely date spot is located in the hip part of Manhattan, East Village, close to their sister vegan restaurants. Every dish here has unique and delightful flavors. We were pleased with the menu and variety. The atmosphere is cozy, some may say small, but I think it’s very New York, which happens to be the characteristic I like.
Paulie Gee’s
This gourmet pizzeria located in Green Point, Brooklyn is our go-to pizza place. It has a wide selection of vegan pizzas. I wasn’t a big fan of pizzas, but I was blown away the first time I tried their In Ricotta Da Vegan. Their cashew ricotta cheese is amazing. It’s better to go early, as the wait is usually long especially on the weekend.
Franchia
This is an Asian vegan restaurant that serves a variety of asian dishes. My favorite dishes are their stone bowls and appetizers such as “buffalo” wings and pecking buns. It’s located in the Lower Midtown area on Park Avenue. If you’re ever in town, this place is definitely worth a visit.
